The Art of Slowing Down: Embracing Your Feminine Nature

"I used to wear my busyness like a badge of honor. As an entrepreneur, every moment felt accounted for—meetings, deadlines, emails, and endless to-do lists. When I became a mother, the weight of this constant motion became overwhelming. I was navigating not only my business but also the profound transformation of stepping into motherhood. The pace I once prided myself on suddenly felt unsustainable.
Slowing down wasn’t just an option; it was a necessity. And yet, in the stillness, I found something I never expected—liberation. In surrendering to my own natural rhythm, I rediscovered my intuition, my creativity, and a sense of self that had been buried beneath the hustle.

There is a profound beauty in embracing your own pace. As women, our bodies and minds are not designed for relentless productivity. We flow in cycles—sometimes we are full of energy and drive, and at other times, we crave rest and introspection. Honoring these natural rhythms is not a weakness; it is a strength. When we give ourselves permission to slow down, we cultivate a deeper connection with our feminine essence, allowing us to show up in our work, our relationships, and our lives with greater presence and authenticity."

Rituals for Slowing Down & Honoring Your Feminine Energy

If you find yourself struggling to balance work, personal life, and daily responsibilities, here are some simple yet powerful ways to integrate more slowness and self-honoring practices into your life:

  1. Start Your Mornings with Intention – Before diving into your phone or emails, take a few moments to breathe, journal, or stretch. Setting the tone for the day with mindfulness allows you to move with greater ease and clarity.
  2. Sync with Your Cycle – Our energy fluctuates throughout the month. Instead of pushing yourself to perform at the same level daily, recognize when you are in a high-energy phase and when you need to rest. Adjust your workload and self-care accordingly.
  3. Incorporate Slow Rituals – Whether it's sipping tea mindfully, taking long walks, or practicing yin yoga, create small rituals that invite slowness into your day.
  4. Set Boundaries Around Your Time – Give yourself permission to say no to things that drain your energy. Protect your space by setting clear boundaries around work hours, social obligations, and digital consumption.
  5. Connect with Nature – The earth moves in rhythms, and so do we. Spending time outdoors, feeling the sun on your skin, and grounding yourself in nature can be incredibly healing and rejuvenating.
  6. Nourish Yourself – Choose foods that support your body's needs and make meals a sacred act rather than a rushed necessity. Eating with awareness helps you stay connected to your body's signals and needs.
  7. Prioritize Rest Without Guilt – Rest is not laziness; it is a necessary part of productivity and well-being. Give yourself permission to rest without guilt or the need to ‘earn’ it.

Honoring Womanhood: A Tribute for International Women’s Day

As we slow down and embrace our feminine nature, we also celebrate the power of womanhood. We are the nurturers, the creators, the healers, and the leaders. Our strength is not just in what we do but in how we show up—in the way we love, the way we support, and the way we rise. International Women’s Day is a reminder that embracing our full selves—our softness, our resilience, our wisdom—is a radical act in a world that often demands we fit into rigid structures. It is a call to honor not only our own journey but also the countless women before us who have paved the way. It is a day to stand in solidarity with our sisters across the world, holding space for each other’s growth, healing, and empowerment.

Embracing Femininity & Embodied Living: thoughts shared by Nora Stones, Founder of Onati Studio

Why is it important for women to embrace their femininity?

The feminine moves with the rhythms of the body, not the demands of the world. Women are not designed for constant optimization—we are meant to unfold in our own way, guided by the intelligence within us. In a society shaped by masculine structures, reclaiming our feminine rhythm is an act of empowerment. When we honor our cycles and move in harmony with our natural flow, we thrive.

What is Embodied Living?

Embodied living is a way of being—one that invites us to deeply listen, feel, and move in alignment with our true nature. It’s a practice of tuning in rather than pushing through, of responding rather than forcing. Through embodied movement, we reconnect with the intelligence within our bodies our bones, fluids, breath, and energy, allowing us to release old patterns and step into a more fluid, intuitive way of living.

These practices are sacred journeys back to ourselves and the earth, reminding us that life is meant to be felt, not just managed. When we live from embodiment, we experience life with more depth, presence, and ease. We move, love, and create from a place of connection, rooted in our bodies, attuned to our wisdom, and open to the flow of life itself.

How do you honor your body’s natural rhythm?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
